Project Description

The Milford Splash Park project included many improvements beyond the recycling water features and tensile shade structures. The overall project required road re-alignments, parking lot redesign, extensive site grading, a winterized pump house building, an ADA Shower and Restroom Building, a new sewer lift station and force main, and re-routing and/or burying of utilities.

Schwab Eaton worked with KDWP&T Staff and the Contractor to complete the project in a very short time frame. The quick turnaround was in effort to finish the project before external funding became unavailable. The splash park itself includes a nature theme and is designed to accommodate all ages. There was extra attention given to maintaining the existing parklike setting and to preserve as many existing trees as possible. The design successfully buffers the pump house and all utilities away from the pad itself. The site allows the users to have full view of children while also taking in the vast view of Lake Milford.
