Memorial Park

Schwab-Eaton assisted the City of McPherson by developing master plan and design drawings for a renovation to Memorial Park. The plan integrated several war memorials, existing trees, and an existing fish pond. By uniting these elements, a visual axial relationship between the park and County Courthouse was reinforced. Park improvements included a gazebo, grape arbor, playground, restrooms, pedestrian facilities, and landscaping. The park is frequently used for community events, outdoor weddings, and other formal occasions. Improvements were partially funded by a Land and Water Conservation Grant and generous donations by community benefactors.
