Project Description

The Menards facility is a retail lumber/building materials and home improvement sales facility. Schwab Eaton was the lead consultant in the planning and design efforts associated with this project. Initially, Schwab Eaton developed preliminary and final development plans for the McCall Landing 26-acre tract, of which Menards occupies 18 acres. 

This project was on a fast track, and upon City approval Schwab Eaton assisted Menards in developing site/civil-related construction documents for the Menard portion of the site. Schwab Eaton’s role was primarily designing interior streets, parking facilities for 422 vehicles, emergency fire access road to the Menard storage yard, grading, drainage, utilities, storm water detention, an erosion control, and landscaping. Schwab-Eaton had to closely coordinate design of the Menard facility with other firms and utility companies working on the McCall Road Expansion project. Much interface had to occur with connecting three interior streets to McCall Road, coordinating various utility connections and crossings, and designing the interior storm drainage to interface with the new proposed McCall Road storm system. Schwab Eaton closely coordinated planning and design with all parties involved to achieve the success of this multifaceted project.
