Law Enforcement Center

Project Description

This expansion project for the Riley County Law Enforcement Center consists of an approximate 7,700 square foot two-story addition on the northern end of the building. The addition was built for maximum security housing of prisoners that must be separated from other inmates. The two-story addition includes 20 beds/cells, exercise and storage areas, and an outdoor exercise area surrounded by security fencing.

Schwab Eaton assisted a local architect in designing site work and civil-related portions of this project. Design included a small parking area, exterior walkways & stairs, small retaining wall, grading and drainage, utilities, storm sewer piping, as well as roof & foundation drain piping. Careful design considerations were given to security issues, and making sure exterior finish grades met clearance requirements below windows.
