Burlington Sports Complex

Project Description

Schwab Eaton partnered with the Burlington School District on two occasions to improve athletic facilities that are used for school and community sports. Schwab Eaton collaborated with Burlington High School and the Recreation Commission to prepare a master plan for a new sports complex that would serve the school’s athletic programs and local youth. The first phase included one baseball and one softball diamond, field lighting, irrigation, and landscaping. Rough grading of two future diamonds was also completed. Existing parking located at the adjacent football stadium served the first phase. Planned improvements include two additional baseball/softball fields, two soccer fields, parking, a restroom/concession building, additional landscaping, and other related park amenities. Schwab Eaton also assisted the School District with the renovation of their existing track and field facilities. Schwab Eaton prepared design plans to remove the existing track, runways, high jump pad, long jump pits, pole vault landing area, and miscellaneous concrete. The new construction consisted of an 8-lane synthetic surface track; subgrade modification and compaction grading; storm drainage system modifications; irrigation system improvements; new field events including high jump, pole vault, long jump, and triple jump; and new concrete pads and walks.
