Grand Mere Parkway

Project Description

The 300-acre Colbert Hills Golf Course is part of the Grand Mere Community Master Plan encompassing over 1,000 acres in the beautiful Flint Hills. Access to the course and subsequent development was the driving force in the creation of this roadway project. Grand Mere Parkway is an urban section roadway and is classified as an arterial. A portion of the roadway is bifurcated and a majority of its length includes bicycle lanes. Schwab Eaton teamed with HNTB planners to provide a pleasing gateway to the golf course community with landscaping and signage appropriate for the surroundings. Schwab Eaton was responsible for the roadway design including a modern roundabout intersection at Kimball Avenue. Utility considerations were part of the project and accommodations for future extensions were provided.
