E. Miller Ranch/K-18 Sanitary Sewer

Project Description

The East Miller Ranch and K-18 Sanitary Sewer Improvements are projects that will have far reaching impacts on the City of Manhattan, Kansas.  What started out as a replacement of an existing sewer along Wildcat Creek ended as a comprehensive improvement to the west side of the City.  Originally, the City planned to replace a section of sanitary sewer along Wildcat Creek that had nearly reached its capacity and design life.  The new gravity sewer would be extended farther up the floodplain and into areas where flows into two lift stations could be intercepted.  Lift stations at South Wreath and Brianna Court were to be abandoned.  Schwab Eaton was selected as the City's consultant to begin the design in 2008.
