Project Description

6th Street from Main Street to 192nd Avenue in Sabetha is a major thoroughfare running through established residential sections, along Wenger Manufacturing, and running adjacent to the major sports complex near 192nd Avenue. Schwab Eaton provided field surveys, design, plan preparation and specifications for this 30 foot roadway, water line and storm water improvement project. In addition, a sidewalk was constructed parallel to 6th Street along the entire length of the project using KDOT funds.

Construction included a new concrete roadway, reconstruction of intersections and entrances along the route, replacement of 3,938 feet of water main and 2,772 feet of new storm sewer with inlets with traffic maintained through construction. Significant utility relocations and adjustment were made to accommodate construction and improve service. SE coordinated the Railroad permits and assisted the City with their applications for working in the Railroad Right of Way.

Schwab Eaton also provided construction engineering services for the project, which will be completed in the Fall 2020.
